Craftsmanship

A scissor should disappear in the hand. Everything we do in the workshop serves that one sentence.

Craftsman finishing a scissor edge on a whetstone

01

Steel

420J2 stainless, chosen because it resists rust and salon humidity and is easy to resharpen. Hardened to take a fine convex bevel.

02

Grinding

Each blade is hollow-ground on the inside and convex-ground on the outside, so the two edges meet on a single line of contact and the hair is sliced, not pushed.

03

Finishing

Edges are honed by hand on water stones, then the ride line is polished until the scissor closes silently.

04

Balance

Weight is set behind the pivot. The tension screw is adjusted, tested on wet and dry hair, and adjusted again.

05

The chair

Every run goes to working barbers and hairdressers before it goes on sale. If they wouldn't reach for it, it doesn't ship.

Materials & Craftsmanship

Designed for Precision

Weight sits behind the pivot and rests in the palm, so the fingers guide the scissor rather than carry it. The convex edge slices instead of pushing hair, which is what makes slide cutting and scissor-over-comb feel effortless.
